10,000 HOUR RULE APPLIES TO EXHIBITIONS TOO
The Story of Success written by Malcolm Gladwell Throughout the publication, Gladwell repeatedly mentions the "10,000-Hour Rule", claiming that the key to success in any field is, to a large extent, a matter of practicing a specific task for a total of around 10,000 hours.
How does this apply to exhibitions. We've just finish the registration for WTM Latin America . A massive 1,200 exhibitors – 20% more than anticipated – took part in the first three-day World Travel Market Latin America. A launch by the Reed Exhibitions team running the 32 year old highly successful WTM London. How do they do it? Luck, being in the right place at the right time? No we don't think so. Over many years event teams have steered WTM on a successful path, maintaining a competitive advantage and evolving with the times. Its not luck or even talent that achieves this type of sustained success but sheer hard work. Event professionals are not frightened of hard work - long hours and intense periods of work come with the territory. So take comfort with all that practice we are already on the way to reaching our 10,000 hours and our key to success!
